If you don’t know what this is, that’s not a good sign. But, it’s never too late to learn. Listen, EVERY successful business owner will tell you that you need a way to generate a list of prospects/leads/customers. Online, the way to do this is to offer something valuable (gift certificate, newsletter, information, etc…) in exchange for the person’s contact information. When they give you their information, they are giving you permission to contact them. You can then notify them of sales, promotions, and other happenings within your business.
Why is this important? Simple… most people that find your website will not buy from you the first time they are there. So, being able to “drip” on them periodically will guarantee that they will not forget how to find you. Often, the 6th or 7th contact will result in a sale. But if you do not have a way and a reason for people to leave their information at your site, then you are throwing away business and sales.
